Venue and accommodation The conference will take place at the "Holiday Club Caribia" hotel, located at walking distance from the downtown Turku. Rooms and a few apartment-style units have been reserved for the MPS conference participants, who should reserve the accommodation directly with the hotel in order to get the conference discount.

Rooms at the conference price should be reserved before 10.5.2020. The rooms are typical *** level, 18m2 (not very large), with prices for 1 person 88€/night and for 2-person occupancy 98€/night . Room upgrades are also available. The prices include breakfast, spa access can be purchased separately. The apartments are suitable for families and for sharing by a small group of people. The prices are: 1 bedroom (39m2) unit: 2 separate beds in bedroom, sofabed in living room, fully equipped kitchen, balcony: 150€/night 2 bedroom (51m2): 2 separate beds in both bedrooms, sofabed in living room, fully equipped kitchen, balcony,private sauna: 200€/night. Many other accommodation options are available in downtown Turku through common reservation systems. The walking time from downtown is about 30min and there is also frequent bus connection.
Travel Turku can be reached by air, bus, train or ferry. Direct flights link Turku airport to Helsinki (about 30 min), Stockholm, Riga and Gdansk. Downtown Turku is reached from Turku airport by bus number 1 or by taxi, costing about 30-40€.
Often a good alternative is a flight to Helsinki and taking a long-distance bus or train from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport to Turku. Bus can be the most convenient, faster connections taking about 2h15min and arriving at Turku bus station, close to downtown hotels. Usually a change of bus is involved -- outside Helsinki, the bus meets another one coming from Helsinki city centre and the passengers form airport are transferred to that bus, to continue to Turku. Travel by train takes a similar amount of time and involves changing from the local airport train to the long-distance train at Pasila station. Finally, two passenger ferry companies operate between Turku and Stockholm -- Silja Line and Viking Line. The scenic journey can be made during the day or overnight.
